MVP
Dennis, gnats and PB - A week after James ruled July, all seven players not named James had a Course 1 PB (personal best). Dennis' 11-under closer was one better than Clayton's 26 which turned out to be the difference in a stellar duel. This impressive performance led to Dennis' 6th win of the season, now just two behind Clayton's 8. Mark equaled Dennis' low round of 25 to finish in third. Geoff and Mitchell tied for fourth, one stroke out of the money. Jeff improved 16-shots from his first trip to Course 1 three weeks ago and RPC welcomed George who made a 40 sandwich with a nice 1-under par 35 in the middle. George also has the dubious honor of being the first father to lose to his son in RPC history (sorry Dad), but let's give him credit, 115 ties Mark's 2007 debut on Course 1 and is one better than Troy's '09 Course 1 effort and it was his 35th wedding anniversary! There were several strong finishes of the night, but none more noticeable than the gnats. Is was as if Alfred Hitchcock was filming a horror movie at Putt-Putt.
It seems that the RPC putters are firing on all cylinders as they will travel this coming weekend to Lynchburg to attempt to return the Star-Hill Cup to the Star City.
