Pam (Geoff's Wife) - For a 5th (Wood) anniversary present, Pam purchased a Persimmon & Brass putter and gave Geoff two instructions: 1) Win; 2) Don't let Dennis break it! Both were accomplished Monday night. Although Geoff tried to throw away the lead with a poor third round, the Louis 2.5 putter held the reins long enough to guide its owner to a second victory which ended an 18-week drought. Dennis aced his final hole to remove himself from a logjam forming at 85. Mitchell, Mark and Clayton all earned a cool TJ ($2) with the third place tie. While others struggled, James surged in the third round by tying Geoff with an 11-under par 25 low round. Geoff nudged James out of fourth place on the RPC standings (a spot that the 'King' usurped in July) by the slimmest of margins. You could say that the tournament was sponsored by Payday, because 6 of the 9 competitors walked away with cash.
Next week we will see if the Louis 2.5 will retire undefeated and give Heavy Putter a chance or if Spike Lee was right: "It's gotta be the putter!"
